A message from Paul

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

Allow me to take this opportunity to tell you about myself, my beliefs and why I decided to stand for election as a Senator for the state of Queensland.

I believe the prosperity of our nation depends upon the freedom of the individual, smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation and opportunity for all. In my view, Government does not and cannot provide all of the answers.

I believe in an Australia where every person has the opportunity to realise their full potential – for themselves, for their family and for our nation. A country where success is celebrated, not penalised. A country where the prosperity may assist those who are less fortunate so that they have the opportunity to be all that they can be. A country where the freedoms of the individual – to think, to speak, to associate, to worship – are protected, not threatened, by government. That is my vision for our great nation.

It is my commitment to the people of Queensland to stand up and fight for those whom Robert Menzies called the “Forgotten People” – the hard-working people in our community who get up every morning, work hard, pay their taxes and make sacrifices for themselves and their families.

My professional experience has equipped me with a range of skills which I use to represent you and your interests in the Senate. Prior to entering the Senate, I worked in the private sector for 25 years, dealing with some of Australia’s largest trading partners; negotiating with governments, business partners and suppliers. I know what it is like to be part of a team that builds a project employing hundreds of people. I understand the pressures and the challenges. I understand it because I have done it. I now use those skills in the service of Queenslanders as an elected representative in the upper house of the Federal Parliament of Australia.

I am also passionately committed to community service. Prior to entering Parliament, I participated in a range of community activities. From providing advice in community legal services, to serving on the executive of my local community festival, I have been an active participant in community service. Now in the Senate, I support the efforts of the thousands of Queenslanders who provide outstanding service to their community.

To learn more about my background, beliefs and values, you can read my short biography or watch my maiden speech in the Senate.

My office is based in Springfield along the Southwest Corridor - the fastest growing area of Queensland. It is available to assist you, or simply to hear your views and gain your feedback. I am your representative. I encourage you to get in touch with me using the website contact form.

One of the driving reasons I sought election to this place was to make it easier, not harder, for Australians to pursue opportunity and create wealth through their own initiative, their own enterprise and their own spirit.
